Marcus Maddox is an artist whose photography explores human intimacy, capturing young people across American cities with a cinematic approach to everyday life. Drawing inspiration from Romanticism, he aims to materialize his worldview with a strong sense of design, believing the best home for a photograph is in a book. His work has been exhibited in museums and galleries both in the US and internationally, with collections in the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art. Maddox’s slideshow exhibition, Hey Lover, premiered at the Roxy Cinema in New York in 2024, and his work has appeared in The New York Times, Interview Magazine, TIME, The New Yorker, American Chordata, and New York Magazine.
