Above the city lights, something magical is happening. Bobby Nashville’s celebrated rooftop series is back for year seven — a must-experience for anyone chasing the sound of something new.

Bobby Nashville is partnering is with WNXP, Nashville's music experience, to bring you a line-up of acts, some well-known, some about-to-be-well-known, playing in the intimate Rooftop Lounge with a view of Music City. And while you do need to reserve a ticket in advance online, you don’t have to shell out a dime. This is free to the public.

In a city where country-western classic or rock covers often fill area stages, Backyard Sessions curated by WNXP has become known for welcoming experimental artists and those who draw a variety of genres to make their sounds.

Here’s the full line-up for the season. Doors open at 6 p.m. each night.

  • Thursday, June 26
Kicking off the season, magnetic indie-pop star, singer-songwriter Samia. Nashville’s own shimmering songwriter Josh Gilligan sets the night in motion with feel-good, heart-on-sleeve melodies.

  • Thursday, August 14
Get ready to sway: Oklahoma’s dream-punk rockers BRONCHO deliver infectious grooves and offbeat charm, while Nashville’s Wilby (a.k.a Maria Crawford) warms up the night with breezy, sun-soaked indie tunes that’ll steal your heart.

  • Thursday, August 21
Middle Tennessee’s genre-bending lyricist Samara Cyn headlines with smooth flows and soulful beats. Expect a triple-threat evening as the atmospheric R&B of Isaia Huron and the sharp-witted rhymes of Tim Gent electrify the stage.

  • Thursday, September 4
Genre-defying and spirit-lifting, Afro-Appalachian folk visionary Mon Rovîa headlines with rich stories of resilience and identity. Rising Nashville multi-instrumentalist Jarren Blair, who taught himself piano at age 11, opens with a soulful blend of keys and voice.

  • Thursday, September 18
British indie powerhouse Bartees Strange closes the series with an explosive mix of indie rock, hip-hop, and post-punk textures. Kicking off the night: mischievous pop disruptors Venus & the Flytraps — self-proclaimed "indie-pop’s annoying little sister."

Don’t forget, the Rooftop Lounge is a full-service bar and restaurant, so you can nab eats and drinks better than other live music venues across town.
