Bobby Nashville's Backyard Sessions curated by WNXP rooftop music series welcomes Dehd and Friko!

Dehd's fifth album, "Poetry," transports listeners to a world of vivid imagery and emotional exploration. Across fourteen songs, the trio—Jason Balla, Emily Kempf, and Eric McGrady—delve into themes of hope, heartbreak, and self-discovery, inspired by a unique writing journey through New Mexico, the Puget Sound, and rural Montana. Co-produced with Ziyad Asrar, the album blends confessional and anthemic elements, examining love, self-defeating habits, and social themes with rare candor. "Poetry," released on May 10th by Fat Possum Records, captures Dehd's adventurous spirit and their most honest writing yet.

Friko, a Chicago-based trio featuring frontman Niko Kapetan and drummer Bailey Minzenberger, has gained significant attention with their anthemic track “Crimson To Chrome.” Praised by Pitchfork, Brooklyn Vegan, and Consequence, their dynamic performances at SXSW 2023 solidified their rising status. Their 2022 debut EP, "Whenever, Forever," blends folk, post-punk, and chamber pop, exploring life's risks and possibilities. Friko's live shows captivate audiences with explosive rock, serene sonics, and Kapetan’s emotive vocals, earning them strong support from the Chicago music scene and growing label interest.
