CAMP BOBBY IS BACK!

Firepits, stargazing and s’mores don’t have to be relegated into winter pastimes in the woods. The Rooftop Lounge at the Bobby brings the outdoors in all its winter glory to downtown Nashville with its annual Camp Bobby festivities. The 1970’s style camp includes iconic igloos and outdoor fire pits to keep your outsides warm. A menu of cocktails and snacks, such as a gingerbread mule and buttermilk fried wings, will keep your insides warm. Of course, Bobby’s kitchen is stocked with ingredients you don’t typically have on a camping trip: these s’mores feature Nutella ganache, for example.

All you have to do is ride the elevator up: no camping gear or sleeping bags or pitching a tent necessary.

Each winter the hotel’s 10th floor is transformed into this seasonal oasis, with twinkling lights, woven chairs just like the ones Mom and Dad (or Grandma and Grandpa) would load in the station wagon and bring on a camping trip. Pine trees and “snow” obscure the view of the hotel’s pool, so you can really get into the winter mood.

And, of course, you can still have a drink and take your photo in the Bobby’s 1956 Scenicruiser bus, which sits perched on top of the roof year-round.

Camp Bobby is a popular place to be, for both hotel guests and Nashville locals, so reservations for the igloos and bus are recommended. Fire pit availability is first come, first served, so get there early if you want to warm yourself by the fire. Camp Bobby is not just for the holidays: It runs through February 2023.
